To: ALL Ministers, Preachers, Leaders, Officers and Members
From: Circuit Superintendent
Date: January 06, 2018
Hither to has the Lord brought us. We indeed praise God for what is past and trust him for what is to come. Blessings for the new year saints of God.
As we continue to prepare to host almost 100 persons for the District Conference of the south Caribbean District, please remember to pray, volunteer, attend, participate and support in whatever ways you can and as much as you can. There is still a need for persons to volunteer to assist as chaperones and liaison personnel along with volunteers for serving, assisting in the kitchen, transportation and secretariat. We also will need persons to assist in journal writing. Be willing and ready to offer you service. You may only be able to give a day or part of a day or several days – it will be greatly appreciated. IT still is try “many hands make work light.” Please note there will be no additional conference offering collected before conference as was announced in some congregations.
Cancellation of Trial Service at Chauncey
I have received information from the District that the trial service to be held at Chauncey for Rev Michael Lessey on Monday 15 will no longer take place. The other two at Brighton and Calliaqua will proceed as planned.
Circuit in Prayer
As we prepare to host the conference we will meet in prayer on Sunday 14, 4.00pm at the Chauncey Chapel. Come let us pray together – there is power in pray.
Joint Circuit Council and Circuit Pastoral Council
In preparation for the Conference it is prudent that we meet in Councils. We will need to take a vote on behalf of Rev’ds Cato and Gorman along with other critical residual matters that will need to be addressed. ALL Leaders and officers of the congregations and circuit are expected to attend. Thursday 5.00 p.m at the Church hall.
As we seek to improve our daycare ministry it is prudent that we move towards appointing a chair of the Circuit Daycare/preschools board. If you are either willing or know of someone who will serve well in this capacity please indicate to me or communicate with the office.
It is also important as we look to the future and transitioning that we begin identifying persons who can serve as circuit preschools supervisor. Please indicate your interest or any name you are aware of who will serve in this area well. Sis Clarista Richards currents serves as Circuit supervisor and is responsible for overseeing all of the preschools of the circuit.
Please remember after conference we wind down with the circuit concert, then the youth will bless our hearts with various ministries in youth month. February 11 will be class Sunday and Lent begins with Ash Wednesday on February 14. We continue to encourage seating in classes for class Sunday but also encourage other approaches to engage the classes. We will also have a meeting of all members in zones beginning January 31, Zone 1 at Calliaqua, Zone 2 at Chauncey and Zone 3 Westwood. All begin at 6pm and will provide opportunity for persons to receive updates from conference as well as reflect on the life of the congregations and circuit in general
Yours in Christ Service
Rev. A. Davis
