Our Vision
Our Vision, Mission and Theme
“And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.” Mark 16:15
Our Vision as the Kingstown/Chateaubelair Circuit and the South Caribbean District is the culmination of years of reflection, training, searching, praying, formal and informal discussions among the laity and the clergy, and listening to persons who are and are not members of the District Conference and persons. We remember John Wesley’s statement, “The kingdom of God will not ‘come with observation;’ but will silently increase, wherever it is set up, and spread from heart to heart, from house to house, from town to town, from one kingdom to another,” and in an effort to create a renewed Church, the South Caribbean District has created a plan with the goal of strengthening and expanding its missionary outreach.
Our goals for the circuit and for the South Caribbean District are based on a philosophy encapsulated in the theme “Renewed in Christ: Committed to a new Caribbean”. The plan focuses strongly on priorities for the SCD and its work as a Church with a specified mandate.
Our Vision and Mission is based on a hierarchy which begins with five (5) Key Result Areas (KRAs) that are expanded into goals and objectives.
The five (5) Key Result Areas (KRAs) are:
- Spiritual Growth and Development
- Governance, Leadership and Management
- Financial Sustainability
- Development of an Educational Thrust
- Mission, Outreach and Service
